Welcome to Qibla Amman

Until recently, it proved very difficult for English speaking Muslims to study even the basics of their deen in an academic environment. Programs were offered by different institutions, but they tended to lack the structure and academic rigor that typical Western institutions and universities offered. Over the past few years we have been blessed to see many programs develop to fill the need for teaching the basics. Unfortunately it seems that not much has been done to go beyond that. Once you learn the basics you were left in the dark again.

Traditionally there have been two approaches in trying to gain an Islamic education:

  1. Take periodic courses while at home; or
  2. Travel to the Muslim world for intensive study

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been one way to completely integrate the two approaches so that they build upon each other. Many students take courses back home and then travel overseas only to find they have to start from scratch, as their previous studies did not provide the prerequisite knowledge needed for the overseas program. When they return home, they find that there is no institute for them to continue their studies locally.

Now There’s A Solution…

Imagine an institute in the Muslim world that offers courses with the ability for you to continue your studies once you return home. Imagine doing this in an environment that allows you to interact with both the locals in Arabic and many other English-speaking Muslims from around the world. An environment in which scholars of Islamic law, belief, spirituality, the Qur’an, Arabic and more, all live within a few blocks of each other. This is that very environment.

Qibla Amman…

  • An institute that caters to the needs of English speaking Muslims seeking to learn their religion.
  • An institute that will allow you to join between your studies at home and your studies overseas.
  • Qibla’s on-the-ground institute.
