This new course will detail the legacy of the Sahaba by describing their struggles and the lessons we can integrate into our practical lives to bring us closer to our Lord.
Muslims today are facing the test of Islamophobia—hatred of Muslims and Islam not only in the west but also throughout the globe. The publication "Social Work and Minorities: European Perspectives" describes Islamophobia as the new form of racism and argues that "Islamophobia is as much a form of racism as Anti-Semitism,"
Simply, we are now being demonized. We are not being looked as a culture, religion, or people of common goals and understanding. We are being labeled, victimized, and put in a box, and told what to say how to act.
Moreover, and more importantly, this is being used as a justiļ¬cation to not let us practice our deen, to steal our property, and to halt the education of our religion.
Here’s the news: this is nothing new. This happened before in Islamic history; it happened in the very beginning of our history in the life of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the life of the Sahaba. They fought with patience and valor to overcome their “Islamophobia.” They put their trust in Allah Most High and knew very well that He sets the circumstances and He has full control over outcomes. And if they did their best and moved towards Him, what He gave them was for the
best.
