The core of the Qibla’s Summer Intensive is our curriculum. This curriculum has been developed by Qibla over several years of consultation with some of the greatest scholars and institutes from all over the Muslim world. Developed specifically for the English-speaking Muslim, it has been praised by many in both the Academic and traditional circles, as well as our students who are progressing through it, for the changes they have experienced and the knowledge they have gained.
Courses offered during the Summer Intensive are specially chosen to help you progress quickly to the next levels in Arabic and Islamic Studies. And because our on-the-ground program is completely integrated with our online one, continuing your studies once you return home is a seamless and convenient experience.
As a Qibla Amman student, your typical day will include the following program of study:
Arabic is the language of the final revelation, and has always been the tongue of Islamic scholarship. Learning Arabic is vital for people seeking an intimate relationship with the revelation as it was revealed, as well as for those truly seeking to apply themselves to classical Islamic learning.
Learn Arabic specially catered to your needs, as our curriculum is geared to help you access the texts of the revelation and classical books of Islamic learning while enabling you to ably communicate in an Arabic learning environment.
Courses on Islamic Law range from the basic to the complex. Beginning with an introduction to the essentials for day-to-day life, courses move into specifics so that you can understand how to deal with more complex questions that arise in the areas of purification, prayer, fasting, Hajj, finance, interpersonal relationships, and more. You will be able to choose either the Hanafi, Maliki, or Shafi’i school of law.
Here at Qibla, we believe that the students should have a balanced and multi-perspective outlook to learning. Education is not only limited to what we typically offer, i.e. ‘academic’ courses. Subjects, such as those listed below, are but a few examples of what an individual can learn.
UDPATE: All students will be registered for an elective course that combines the following elements into comprehensive package:
