The Miftah Curriculum takes students with no knowledge of Arabic and gives them a solid grounding in the language in preparation for the Sibawayh Curriculum. Miftah focuses on reading fluency through systematically introducing you to the basic rules of Arabic, until you can independently understand and decipher classical sentence structures as found in the books of the various religious disciplines. You will complete Mifah with a strong vocabulary and exposure to a variety of classical sentence structures.
Course Requirements
The Miftah Curriculum consists of 5 required courses and 1 recommended** course. These courses are summarized below.
Introductory Theory
**Basic Arabic Reading (ARB101) – Recommended for those who have no knowledge of the Arabic language
Intensive Application
- Intermediate Arabic, Part 1 (ARB211)
- Intermediate Arabic, Part 2 (ARB212)
- Intermediate Arabic, Part 3 (ARB213)
Upon Completion
After successfully completing the Miftah courses you are eligible to apply for the Miftah Diploma.
Receiving the Miftah Diploma means that you have been certified in your understanding of the material. You will have learned how to tap into your grammatical mind and will now have the key to access classical texts, which will assist you in the Sibawayh and Seekers programs.
