USTADHA SAWSAN MOSTAFA was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. She acquired a BS in Political Science from Cairo University and is currently living in Cairo with her family. She started her Shari'a studies in 2003 at the famous Dar-al Hosary Institue in Cairo and later studied Shafi'i fiqh, Tajweed and other Islamic sciences with Shaykhs is Egypt and Jordan. Ustadha Sawsan received her Ijaza in Tajweed in the narration of Hafs 'an 'Asim with Shaykh Sulayman Van Ael. She's currently focusing on studying Arabic Grammar, Balagha (Eloquence), Arabic writing, Qur’anic recitations and Shafi’i Fiqh with Shaykhs in Egypt and Jordan, in addition to being a student at the High Institute of Islamic Studies and Sufi Sciences in Cairo.
